Az eredetileg olasz édesség sok magyar háztartásba belopta magát, egyszerűségének és isteni finom, krémes állagának köszönhetően. Vannak, akik egy kis rummal is feldobják az ízét, de az eredeti recept szerint nem tartalmaz alkoholt. A tirami sú olasz kifejezés, azt jelenti „dobj fel”, ami a kávé és kakaó koffeintartalmára utal.

Elkészítés:
A tojásokat vegyük ketté, és a + 1 tojássárgájával és a cukorral keverjük krémesre. Közben adjuk hozzá a mascarponét, és addig keverjük, amíg habos és könnyű masszát nem kapunk.
Közben a tojásfehérjéket verjük kemény habbá, és finoman adjuk hozzá a krémhez.
Ahogy ez megvan, 30 percre tegyük a masszát a hűtőbe.
Amíg hűl a masszánk, addig készítsük elő a kávét és a babapiskótát. Ha frissen főzött kávéval dolgozunk, akkor várjunk egy kicsit, amíg kihűl a kávé, és csak utána mártogassuk bele a babapiskótát, amit szépen egyenletesen egy edényben vagy jénaban helyezzünk el, szorosan egymás mellé. Ha befedtük vele a tál alját, akkor egyengessük el rajta a masszát.
A piskótából és a masszából annyi réteget képezzünk, amennyi a tálban elfér.
Ha készen vagyunk a rétegekkel, szórjuk meg a legtetejét kakaóporral és tegyük a hűtőbe.
